Turbo N15 and par box problems

    Hey guys,

Always seen the forums and FB page though never posted.

Quick intro: 2000 N15 SSS running built (older build) u13 motor with custom low mount mani and GT2871r, internal gate, 3 inch pretty straight through zorst, big front mount, 1000cc injectors, e85 fuel pump, nistune, running e85 on 10psi also has stock air box and Afm. It's currently been tuned like this due to having to get it registered in NSW to pass emissions. It ran 170kw at the wheels when tuned (Not properly I think).

Anyway currently it's been running like **** tends to want to bog out sometimes with a quick hit of the accelerator also will hit full boost after 4K and is just soo laggy. I just want to get people's thoughts on the setup and what could be improved or if anyone knows anything else I don't in regards to checking things and what not. I know the airbox setup is **** I'm looking at changing that. But previously when tuned it was getting 280-300 km a tank on e85 and now it's only getting just under 200km to a tank. Just after some ideas. I've also ran ECU talk and my knock sensor isn't working nor is another one I'll attach photos.

Any help would be great then I may move onto working out what to do with the par gearbox that blew a bearing and the nismo lad that decided to shatter !!

Cheers guys let me know if I need to break it down a little for you lol I'm new to writing this stuff.

knock sensor error codes can actually be a few different things. could actually be the knock sensor is faulty, could be the wiring, could be the earth of it on the block. you need a multi meter to test this.your timing is right.

par boxes can be fixed ($$$), and the disc's for the nismo diff are still available afaik.

Oh awesome! Your a legend mate cheers! I'll sus that out tomorrow. Yeah the box really annoyed me, the countershaft bearing collapsed and along with chewing the countershaft end. Then once the diff was out I realised the top plate was cracks around all 4 bolt holes and the pressure rings have had chunks taken out of them lol don't know whether it's worth putting back together or just selling the gearset hmmm

Pressure rings are going to be hard to replace. If the pinion was stock you should be able to replace it easily enough. I had the same bearing fail (not with a PAR set) after having it changed when i installed an LSD. I wonder if the replacements (non genuine nissan part) are just so inferior.

Yeah well after hearing that, it wouldn't surprise me lol.
Yeah true I'm just not sure if there's anything I can do with the top plate (replace/repair).

Would the knock sensor cause it to run rich ?

If a replacement can't be bought, you'd have to get one made or throw the diff out. (i'll give ya 50 bucks for it ahah).

knock sensor won't cause running rich, but if its giving a faulty signal it can cause the ECU to pull timing. Unplug it would be the best way to test that initially.

Nothing wrong with the u13 det airbox setup. My car runs worse with a POD filter vs the nissan air box. Some small mods will allow it to flow well enough for you setup i would think.

Hey, would the par gearset be able to be put in to a p11 gearbox (open diff) ? Or are there difference between them?

    Cheers

They're the same gearbox, so i don't know why you'd go to the trouble to get a P11 gearbox specifically. Unless you're talking about the late model P11 70 series gearbox, they are different.

Ahh I see. No reason other than I have one already sitting here. Don't know weather it was worth putting them in or not
