Looking to go turbo in the near future but don't see the point in spending 6-7k on building the box so would like to know some safe power numbers. Max power safe power for a bone stock bottom end SR20DE and max power for the box before blowing 3rd gear or in general, may at least get lsd but if that really risks the box then I won't worry. Thinking around 160FWKW on Either 98 or E85. Cheers
Its more the torque, and how you treat it, but 160kw you should be ok. my ve's nearly there, and its been trouble free for 4 years. you should get a lsd diff (mfactory/quaife/ s/h nismo) otherwise traction will suffer bad.
Yeah I'd be hanging around that 150-160kw mark. Much more and it's bit of a gamble. But as sss4me said it also comes down to how it's treated and how the power is delivered.
