    Drivers side Master Window Switch

So, the drivers window switch has lost it's (auto) spring, which means the window still goes up and down, it's just that the switch stays up or down and I have to manually put it back to the middle.

Now I haven't checked, but are the front switches separate from the rear switches like so?

gently slide a paddle pop stick down from the front edge and it will lift out from the front edge.

sometimes you can just pull it up from the front, but other times they're kinda stuck in there. no need to remove the trim.

What is considered the "front" edge... 1 (mostly off screen) or 2?

1 is front edge, there is a spring clip about 10mm above the two other buttons. if you push the whole unit back and forth (towards front of car then towards back of car) you should fee the springyness.

If you pull it up too hard without disengaging the clip that holds it into the trim, it will crack the plastic top piece(which is separate to the switch gear)
