    Cool The Red Jett's FUEL CONSUMPTION . . .

Had to drive to Toowoomba, QLD a week ago.

Filled the tank up there and drove back to the Gold Coast Hinterland. It was a Thursday, mid-day, and traffic was so light that I maintained a steady 100 kph. Interestingly I had to hair touch the throttle, as it wanted to always go to 110 kph. So I had to take my foot OFF the throttle lots. Why stay on 100 kph? That's the max speed in QLD on this route. Even though about 25 kilometres of the M1 are 110 kph, which I did.

    Kilometers travelled = 211
Liters of Ultimate used = 12.12

By my calcs, worked out at 50.69 miles per gallon. NICE for a 26 year old.

    211 kilometers= 131.1 miles
    12.12 litres = 3.196 gallons
    131.1/3.196= 41mpg.
quality is remembered long after price is forgotten

    I need your help.

I thought 4.55 liters are in 1 gallon.

    Please advise.

    211 kilometers= 131.8 miles
    12.12 litres = 2.6 gallons
    131.8/2.6 = 50.69 mpg.

And Oz has never been USA.

Before Oz went metric, we used the UK Imperial gallon spec. Which is 4.55 litres to the Imp gallon.

So the Red Jett has a 50 litre fuel tank, which equates to about 11 gallons.

Please anyone, help us both. Please Jesus.

Yeh so just stick to L/100km ... and i'd be using US gallons too. Gallo 16 or 24 ... anybody ... ?

    Either way, still decent economy.

I've never liked the L/100km stat.

My Nissan Maxima J32, has fuel consumption displayed to me as - how many kilometres done per litre.

More like the olde MPG stat. Don't go there again . . .
