    Fuel Additive

Hey, today I bought a bottle of the Nulon Total Petrol fuel system cleaner as it says that it will completely clean the fuel system and even go as far as cleaning the intake ports getting rid of the carbon. I'm not sure if this additive will be ok for the engine but if so then hopefully it gives it a good clean. Just would like to know if this stuff works and won't damage anything. I have an N14 SSS with the SR20DE. Thanks, Corey.

There should be a DIY thread on this forum with a procedure on doing a carbon cleanout using specific products. I would recommend those cleaning products and foams over a fuel additive. Fuel only touches certain areas of the intake.

Googling the product might come up with some results?
A lot of the fuel additive tests are so time consuming no one bothers to do them.

Just put another can of SA459 through the Red Jett's SR20. Noticable difference.

Check out this thread if you really wanna clean your intake area.

Subaru Cleaner? Is that just as good as the intake cleaner you get from auto stores?

I do not think the auto stores sell SA459.

Subaru had it made to service their boxer engines, as they are suspect to coking.

Use SA459 and feel the difference.

    go for it:

Hey, do you know if this stuff will substitute?https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/...0g/288071.html

Also do you spray the stuff through the pcv hose into the intake? Cheers.

yes, that will do. 1/4 remove the aicv hose from the rubber intake pipe b4 the throttle body, and spray into the throttle body whilst the motor is going.
quality is remembered long after price is forgotten
