    Aircon/fan control unit removal

    Hi Guys,

I just picked up an N16 for the missus. The aircon button doesnt turn on so I suspect it could be the wiring or board on the control unit.

What's the best way to remove this as I have tried removing from the front but the fan cables are hard to detach.

Are they best to detach from under the glove box area?
Also is aircon button/control unit failure common on these cars?

    Cheers,
    Kuro

Does the a/c work but the light doesn't come on with the button? or does the system not work? if it doesn't work, the problem will be outside the button in the engine bay most likely.

The cables, if they're anything like the N15 must be removed from under the dash, not at the controls end of things.

Thanks mate. I managed to remove the cable from the unit as trying to get in behind the glove box looked like a mission. Luckily I gave the aircon button a few flicks/taps and it came on straight away. I imagine there could have been some kind of dust or something stopping the button pressing all the way down. Cheers.
