Hi all,
Curious to find out off of those who have put a P12 Sump and pickup on a P11 SR20VE, exactly what components are required to achieve the extra oil capacity?
I have the Lower Sump (noticeably deeper)
I have the P12 oil pickup (again, noticeably different/deeper)
I have been told that I require the P12 oil dipstick. Can anyone whom has conducted the swap elaborate as to why a different dipstick is required?
I have got both the 20V and standard VE dipstick, the standard VE is longer and therefore reaches deeper into the sump. The P12 dipstick is shorter and with a higher "Full" level. Therefore, if using the P11 dipstick, I will end up with the right "Full oil level" for my motor but with more oil due to deeper lower sump. But using the P12 dipstick, I will essentially be 'overfilling' my engine in order to reach the high point on the P12 dipstick?
Is my theory right on this one?
