if its clean, gasket goo on the moons/dizzy ridge,and torqued in order, then its not much tension at all 4nm then 8-10nm.bugger all
just apply sealant to the 2 "moons" on the cam gear end of the head, and on the other side where the high ridge around the distributor is. thats it. make sure is very clean, and tension the screws...
if its the factory cd player, just rip it out and run it over a few times. that will fix it. otherwise,no, its not.

the ecu port is inside the car, drivers side right foot, there's a cover over the fuse box. below the fuses in there

i have not done this, but thats what a few guys use. just make sure there clean before you start. as far as the bulbs go, so long as they glow yellow/orange, not red, you are good to go.
