Airbag light flashing - N15 SSS

Hey guys, this morning when I left for work my airbag light was flashing slowly. This has continued for my trip home.

I tried using a method I found the Americans using, where you turn the ignition on and hammer the door light button, but I haven't been able to get that to work for me..

Has anyone else had this come up before? Is there a known way to turn it off?
I'd like to turn it off to see if it comes back on, with the theory that if it does, then it's got a problem, if it doesn't, it was just in a bad mood.

The service manual says this.

Is this the procedure you followed ?

That is the procedure I followed, but didn't have much luck with.
Is that in the manual that comes with the car? Or a service manual that a Nissan dealer has?

Looks like I need that next step it mentions..

no love for the motherland

to round this one off, jumped in the car this morning. everything is normal, no flashing light.

turned it off and restarted it, normal.

got to work and did it again, normal.


butthole car, i just paid for a new steering wheel haha.

i'm suspicious of it, and will change it over regardless, but still, amusing!
