View Full Version : What's the most common 15" tyre size in Australia?
I've had 17s on my last few cars and always went with 235/45R17 due to them being the most common and cheapest tyre in a 17" in Aus.
I'm sure there must be a the same deal for 15s, does anyone know what they are?
I'd rather spend $100 a tyre on a brand name tyre of a common size than $100 on a Chinese tyre because it's not a common size etc.
Cheers.

Im assuming youre talking stock wheels?
Best to stick to the OEM sizes to maintain speedo accuracy. Should be plenty of brands to choose from around the 195/55?/15

I looked at quite a few places selling tyres online before posting this and couldn't find anything, but last night I found the one that seems good value for money.
Achilles ATR Sport 2, has quite a few good reviews and has good looking tread.
$68 not including fitting or tyre disposal, but I reckon if I call around locally I could probably buy them fitted for around $85 each.

I saw your thread on PF and was gonna post there but I'll post here :)
I've found 195/50/15 or 205/50/15 to be most common. Given you have a n15 I'd go the 205/50/15 which from memory is stock size.
I picked up a set of 195/50/15 Yokohama AD08Rs almost a year ago through a 4 for the price of 3 deal. Keep an eye our for it; usually happens around June/EOFY.
Otherwise I'd be hitting up a Hankook dealer as they are doing 195/50/15 RS3s for $95ea and 225/45/15 for $132ea, but these might be a little big, and the 195s would be a touch small for N15.
Cheers

The stock size is 195/55R15.
I have Hankook RS3s on my WRX at the moment, they were $280 a tyre (talked him down from $305) for 245/45R17 which is about $100 a tyre more than it would have cost for a 235.
I might look into the price dor a 195/50R15 RS3, I didn't think they could be that cheap.

Check out the post on the PGA Facebook page by Ryan. There's a few caveats on that price (location, min of 4 etc) but you won't get better for the dollars.

I just had a look, cheers.
4 tyres plus shipping to country SA plus fitting is out of my budget right now.
It's probably realistically 2 or 3 pays to catch up on bills and expenses after buying the SSS recently before I could even buy 2 tyres which was the plan.
Great price on them though.

Paullus, I see some other places selling them for $115 fitted. I think a new Hankook dealer just opened up here so I might check out what the best price is that he can do.

My N15 stock size is 185/65/14 according to the sticker on the door. Or 175/65/14,
