View Full Version : What was the N15's competition when released?

This might seem like a sacrilegious post/question on a Pulsar forum, but there's a reason for it.
I had a 95 pulsar (written off) and now a 99 model. Love it. Nothing fancy done to it, (I'm too old for doing that sorta stuff now) but it's a great reliable little car.
Problem is, it's also the most stolen car in my area. So to me it's not a matter of if my car will disappear, but when.

So if/when that happens, I don't think I'd buy another one. Just on the worry of the potential theft. Every morning I sorta expect it to be gone.

So what would be the equivalent car from a different manufacturer around the same time? Late 90 or early 2000.
Thanks.

Similar cars, not necessarily competition

Toyota Corolla
Honda Civic
Holden Astra
Mitsubishi Lancer
Proton Satria GTI
Mazda SP20
etc etc.

Thanks Cozzm0. Hated making this thread but something I'd like to know. Will have a look at those suggestions. Hopefully I'll never need them. But doesn't hurt to research them.

got an idea for budget? size? fuel cost?

We might be able to make some suggestions.

Leroy, I don't need a replacement yet. (Haven't looked out the front for half an hour though)
Budget would be about 2.5.
4cyl 2.0 liter engine, manual, and no preference over sedan or hatch.

Never owned one but always thought about a ek civic. Seen a lot of cool ones around the place.

Not for 2.5K for a civic, unless you want a ****ter.

This.
EK's are joining the list of older, more desirable civics.

Yeah, SP20 is only thing I can think of similar in age/price.
