What's better to protect paint a bit, from bird poo? Although the paint on my car looks okay, the clear coat is lifting in a few spots and when a bird poo's on it, it takes a lot of effort to remove it.
So would putting a polish on it make removal easier, or a wax coat, like turtle wax or whatever.
There's actually a bird poo stain on the boot that won't come off scrubbing with a sponge, (last owner didn't really do car care other than mechanival) and u sorta want to protect the rest of it.
Thanks.

try a light buff with something like meguires ultimate compound, then protect it with a light coat of autoglym super resin polish and/or a wax. the protection coat will stop stuff from sticking to the paint. my 2c

Thanks sss4me. But you've given me a choice with the "and/or" part. I will try that autoglym stuff you mention though. Suppose it can't hurt.

i use both the autoglym (1st) and meguires nxt gen tech wax (2nd) on mine. both are idiot proof, just dont use too much.

Thanks again. Was just doing some research about them. Polishing sorta cleans it up and the waxing puts a protective coating. Sweet. Haven't had a car worth protecting for a long time, so have to learn this stuff all over again.
And I like the idiot proof part. Clearly designed for people like me.

Just a follow up post, so you don't think replies aren't listened to.
Had to get some other car bits today, and Autobarn had the Aotuglym super resin polish for $20, so I grabbed a bottle. Now to find time to try it out.

Finally found time/weather to give it a go. Thing is, I haven't polished a car, I can probably safely say, since last century, so I can't say if it's great stuff or not. But I am happy with how it looks. Used the autoglym resin polish, then a tube of wax I found in my shed. Stupid me forgot to take a before shot.
Waiting for the autoglym to dry.
