What have you personally done to your car, just because you either simply didn't know or by accident.
We all did something stupid when we first started and all still make mistakes so fire away,
No judging guys :p

I'll start,
Some years ago, fresh into playing with cars, I removed my front brake calipers, i installed the left on the right and the right on the left, (because this put the brake bleed niplles upside down) I could not bleed them to save my life and It took me a few days to figure out that I'm a complete monkey

(Head down in shame)

Replaced all the coolant hoses under the intake manifold.

Took it for a drive coolant leak and getting hot.

Got it home to find out that even with my numerous checks of all hoses, clamps and associated nuts and bolts. I left the thermostat housing bolts at the back to the hard pipes finger tight.

Ooops

Wiring some switches in the dash (the kind that light up when they are on) and fried all the earth wires. There was a lot of smoke in my car LOL. Lesson learnt, read the diagram properly :)

Didn't put the spring clip back on the conlink in the timing chain. Got about 35km out of it.

I bought a pulsar 9 years ago, it was fun.
I started modifying it, i remember distinctly saying to a friend, "No ill never turbo it, id never drive a fwd turbo"
It is now turbo'd and i dont drive it often

I could be here all week with all the dumb stuff I've done with cars but the main one that comes to mind is rushing to plug all the fuel lines in when I put the SR in my old sedan and not making a note of what goes where. Flooded the damn thing so badly that fuel was pissing out of just about everywhere there was a gap...

Dad and I used a piston and rod from another motor in a rebuild because the donor block had one piston that was slightly damaged. Forgot to weigh it.

Had been babying it for about 900km before giving in to a few hits and it developed a knock :(

Not even a bad one, just one that ended up only happening on light throttle just above/around 3krpm. It started out sounding like a big end bearing again lol.

Drove it like that for 6k or so before replacing with a super low km motor lol.

My other one was thinking I did my clutch, so I pulled the 6 speed out(and motor too pretty much), changed the clutch, flywheel and throwout bearing only to find it was a snapped shaft that I didnt notice when I pulled the shafts out and refit them lol

dropped muffler on my face atleast 5 times while trying to fit it.
tried to clean my sentra foglights, recalled people talking about using cleaning alcohol for it. forgot that they heavily water the alcohol down, and that mine is 99.7% pure. This is why i only run one sentra fog.
Oh and I also painted by bonnet with chalkboard paint, but thats turned out to be quite fun.
